Tarjetas de Loteria
The Mexican game of Loteria is similar to bingo, with classic imagery for each of the spots on a playing card and a deck of cards to name each image off. There have been countless spin-offs and visual remixes throughout the years, and here is my stab at it. I chose to break tradition a bit and draw from the Art Deco style in symmetry, minimalism, and geometric forms. Also using Art Nouveau color palettes with muted tones. The result are familiar pieces that feel new and different, while maintaining details such as the order numbers and the iconic highlighted figure of Mexico on “El Mundo.”
