Zines, stemming from the word ‘magazine,’ are small, self-produced publications that focus on a niche topic, community or interest. The definition of any of these subjects is incredibly subjective, with content, format, and aesthetics ranging from wild physical constructions to more traditionally-appearing publications. My zine is focused on UK-based alternative band, Glass Animals. Using imagery from their open source online project, as well as original imagery, I’ve compiled a short, half-letter-sized zine featuring biographical information on the band, lyrical content, and a short essay on what they mean to me.
